Profile Description:

The O’Briens group is Irelands largest independent and family owned drinks retailer. Importing exclusively from over 55 wineries worldwide, they provide over 1,000 wines which is complemented by the largest beer and spirit offering in the country. There are 24 nationwide stores in the expanding network with four new stores launched in 2007. Consumers may also shop online at www.wine.ie.

Measuring 8,000 sq. ft, the Superstore at Beacon South Quarter benefits from a contemporary, innovative fit-out design delivering the most interactive and exciting shopping experience in the country. The sheer size of the space enables them to showcase the widest range in the group with an expanse of vintages and the largest range of Cru Classé wines in the country. The Superstore takes consumers beyond the regular retail environment by offering theatre style tastings instore with up to 100 wines on tasting at any one time, regular winemaker talks & advice from resident wine expert, David Whelehen. Consumers are invited to take time to browse in the relaxed & contemporary store; to taste with their knowledgeable staff and benefit from the useful information points provided on the wide range of wines. Essentially, consumers are encouraged to get to know the range that suits them best before they buy.

O’Briens have also partnered with cheese specialists, Sheridans Cheeses, allowing them to offer a wide range of speciality cheese samples to pair with the wines on tasting.
